Reset your BANA password
Request a reset code from the sign-in screen and set a new password when you can't remember your old one.
On this page
Locked out is not the same as starting over. If you can’t remember your BANA password, the sign-in screen has a way back in that takes about two minutes and no call to support.
Before you start
- A recovery email on the account - the one you added under Add Email for Account Recovery while verifying your identity, or later under Account settings > Email. Sign-in uses your username, but the reset code only goes to this email.
- Access to that email’s inbox.
Reset your password
Request a password reset code
On the sign-in screen at client.bana.com.vn, select Forgot password?. Enter the Email you added while verifying your identity and select Send Reset Code. BANA then walks you through three more screens in the same card: Enter Verification Code (type the 6-digit code from the email, or select Resend OTP if it hasn’t arrived), Set New Password (the same password rules as sign-up apply), and Password Reset! - select Go to Sign In to log in with your new password.
Troubleshooting
- The reset code hasn’t arrived: wait for the countdown beside the code boxes to run out, select Resend OTP, and check your spam folder. The code goes to your recovery email, not by SMS.
- “Account not found” when signing in with the new password: sign in with your Username, not your email. The reset only changes your password, not your sign-in identifier.
- I don’t remember adding a recovery email: add one now under Account settings > Email, then come back and start over from Forgot password?. Without it on file, this flow has no way to reach you.
- Set a new password but sign-in still says “Account is temporarily locked”: resetting your password does not lift the lock early - they are two separate mechanisms. The lockout clears itself on the clock the message gave you; the new password only works once that time is up.

You’re back in. If you were mid-setup when this happened, pick up where you left off - see Set up your store.
Frequently asked questions
Why does Forgot password ask for an email, if I sign in with a username?
Sign-in and recovery use different identifiers on purpose. A reset code has to reach you somewhere BANA can message you outside the app, so it goes to the recovery email you added while verifying your identity, not your username.
I never added a recovery email when I signed up. What now?
Add one now under Account settings, Email, then come back and use Forgot password with that address. Without a recovery email on file, Forgot password has no way to reach you.
The reset code hasn't arrived.
Wait for the countdown beside the code boxes to run out, then select Resend OTP, and check your spam folder. The code goes to your recovery email, not by SMS.
Does the new password have to follow the same rules as before?
Yes - at least 8 characters, with one uppercase letter, one lowercase letter, one number, and one special character.
